With the enhancement of security measures, Suprema Devices with LCD display now provide options for settings to partially mask or completely hide the User ID and User Name displayed on the device's authentication success screen. 


[Example the popup message for ther User Name and User ID]


Three Options for [User Name Display] and [User ID Display]:

  • Display All:
    • Display the ID as is.
    •  Display the Name as is.
  • Mask All but First Letter:
    • Display only the first character of the ID and mask the rest with asterisks [*].
    • Display only the first character of each word in the Name and mask the rest with asterisks [*].
  • Hide All:
    • Do not display the ID at all (leave it blank). 
    • Do not display the Name at all.  

 Each setting can be configured independently for user ID and username.

    For example, user ID can be set to 1) display as is, while the name can be set to 3) not display at all.

Note: In the case of BioStar 2 Arabic Language Setting users, there were no exceptions made for Arabic being written from right to left


How to set up [User Name Display] and [User ID Display]

Go to BioStar 2 → Device   → Select Device with LCD Display  → Authentication  → User Name Display + User ID Display.


How to set up [User Name Display] and [User ID Display] in Batch Edit 

Go to BioStar 2 → Device   → Select Devices (more than one) with LCD Display  → on the right side of the corner click Batch Edit - Select User ID Display Value and User Name Display Value with according options → Apply
