The face detection feature allows a user to authenticate only when a face is detected. It doesn't do face matching like FaceStation 2. It will save a image log of the user if the feature is turned on.
Note that if you set the detection level to normal, you will be detected in a further distance. If you set it to strict, you might have to go closer to the camera to have your face detected.
