Q&A List

1. Could we get the video for Intercom with SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) based on VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) server-guided video used in the webinar as well as RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) using BioStation 3 with BioStar 2 version 2.9.0?

Yes, please follow the attached video; we will also be adding separate videos in related articles for the above features.

2. Can we register the user's face using FaceLite and then use FaceStation F2 for access control?

No, the concept of face and visual face is different that you can not use the user's face for visual face on FaceStation F2.

FaceLite does NOT have a visual camera and only indicates an IR image when there is a user face detection.

FaceStation F2 uses Fusion Face Matching Support, a combination of  IR-based face recognition and new AI-based visual face recognition.

3. When the warped image size (112X112) taken from BioStation 3 gets converted to size (250X250) for FaceStation F2, will the warped image quality change?

No, because the size of the (112X112) warped image increases by adding border lines around the 112X112 warped image to be used as a 250X250 warped image. So the original quality of the image will be kept.

4. What does the event log statement "Door open by request button (relay does not activate) mean?

Generally, clients connect their exit button in a relay mode to unlock a particular door. However, there are exceptional cases where clients have an exit button without a relay mode setting to unlock a door.

This feature is used for those clients who take extra steps, as in the client will be able to see the door open request made, then the admin/ guard checks the request, then the admin/ guard themselves will manually or physically open the door not using the relay mode in the exit button.

5. Does Suprema offer live finger mode on BioLite N2 device?

Yes, with the latest firmware clients can now use software base Live Finger Detection mode on BioLite N2.

6. What difference does it make by using Live Finger Detection mode to more strict, will this process take longer for the authentication ?

No, the level of Live Finger Detection Mode set to Not Used, Strict, More Strict, Most Strict will not effect the time it takes for user to go through authentication. The purpose of setting the level of LFD mode is for detecting the fake finger and to reject user authentication.

5. Does Suprema offer  self registering visitor management system using visual face and temperature?

No, currently Suprema only offers visitor management system using fingerprint or RF card.
