Suprema's XPass D2 is an outdoor compact RFID reader that requires two steps for firmware upgrades: one for the micom firmware and another for the BLE firmware.

Notably, the BLE firmware has been updated in XPass D2 v1.7.0 to support new BLE chips(Link to the Revision Note v1.7.0). Therefore, this upgrade can only be performed on devices and firmware that supports the new version. If you are concerned about upgrading XPass D2 firmware, please review this guide to ensure a smooth upgrade process.
If you need to upgrade the BLE firmware on your XPass D2, please ensure it is connected to a Suprema device via RS-485. Suppose your XPass D2 is connected to a third-party panel or device as a dummy reader. In that case, you will need to temporarily rewire it to function as an RS-485 Slave device connected to a Suprema device for the BLE firmware upgrade.
NOTICE
- With the upcoming release of Suprema Device Manager(mobile app) v2.2.0 in November 2024, you can conveniently upgrade the BLE firmware through the app.
