Feature Overview
Airfob Patch enables mobile access by converting mobile credentials into RF signals that card readers can recognize. If you experience issues with the device, use the following troubleshooting steps to diagnose and resolve the problem.
Scenario 1: Selected Mobile Access Card is from a Different Site
Symptoms
- Airfob Patch is powered on but does not respond when the smartphone is tapped.
Resolution
- Ensure the correct mobile access card is selected in the Airfob Pass app.
- Check if the red LED on Airfob Patch lights up when the smartphone is tapped.
- If no response is observed, verify that the correct mobile access card has been downloaded.
Scenario 2: Airfob Patch Requires Relocation
Symptoms
- Airfob Patch is powered, but no RF signal is being received by the card reader.
Resolution
- Register Airfob Patch in the system if it is powered on.
- Move Airfob Patch to different positions on the card reader and test if it responds.
- Try rotating the device slightly to find an optimal RF signal position.
Mobile Card Not Working on Airfob Patch
Scenario: Configured in a Custom Card Format
Symptoms
- Mobile card is issued and downloaded but fails to authenticate when tapping on the card reader.
Resolution
- Verify that the card format is not set to a custom format.
- Access Settings > Credential Settings and check if the card format is set to “Custom Format Display (EM or others).”
- Change the card format to a supported standard format.
Repositioning Airfob Patch on RF Card Readers
Since RF card readers have different antenna sizes and positions, the installation location of Airfob Patch may vary. If you experience inconsistent performance:
- Adjust the placement of Airfob Patch on the RF reader.
- Ensure the Patch aligns with the RF coil of the reader.
Safety Precautions
- Do not install Airfob Patch in areas with direct sunlight, moisture, dust, or near heat sources.
- Ensure the device is not exposed to strong electromagnetic interference.
- Do not attempt to repair or modify the device.
Rebooting Airfob Patch
Steps to Reboot
- Detach Airfob Patch from the access control card reader.
