Feature Overview
Airfob credentials allow you to open doors using your mobile phone instead of a plastic RFID card. This feature is part of Suprema Mobile Access and requires an access control solution compatible with Suprema Mobile Access.
Requirements
To use Airfob credentials, you need:
- The Airfob app installed on your mobile device.
- A valid Airfob credential issued by your organization.
If you have both the app and a valid credential, follow this guide to use your phone to open doors.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Launch the Airfob App
The Airfob app must be running to use Airfob credentials.
Airfob supports two modes:
- Foreground Mode: The app must be on-screen, and the mobile credential must be visible.
- Background Mode: The app runs in the background and will open doors even when the phone is locked.
For help switching between modes, refer to our Quickstart Guide.
Step 2: Tap Your Phone on the Access Control Reader
Bring your phone within 5 cm (2 inches) of the access control reader. This should activate the reader and open the door.
Note: Some phones may require a specific position or angle to work correctly.
Common Issues & Considerations
- If the reader light turns red or your app displays an Access Denied message, contact your site administrator.
- Your site administrator is typically a member of your IT, security, or HR team.
