Feature Overview

With Airfob, mobile access cards allow you to open doors using your smartphone. These digital cards are stored in the Airfob app and can be either permanent (for full-time employees) or temporary (for short-term guests).

If you need a mobile card to access a space using Airfob, contact your host or site administrator. They will issue a mobile card, and you will receive an invitation via email or SMS.


How to Add Mobile Cards

Downloading the Mobile Card via Email or SMS

You can easily download the Airfob app and your mobile card by clicking the download link in the email or SMS invitation.

  1. Contact the site administrator and request a mobile card.
  2. Wait for the invitation to be sent via email or SMS.
  3. Open the invitation on your smartphone and click the link. Do not attempt to open the link on a computer. The download link can only be used once.
  4. If the Airfob app is not installed, you will be redirected to the App Store or Play Store to install it.
  5. If the app is already installed, the mobile card will be added automatically.
  6. Enable Bluetooth and Location Services when prompted. Airfob does not store location data.

Downloading the Mobile Card via Activation Code

If you are unable to download the mobile card using the link, you can manually enter an activation code.

  1. Install the Airfob app from the App Store or Play Store.
  2. Request an activation code from the site administrator.
  3. Open the Airfob app and tap the ≡ icon.
  4. Select the Add Mobile Cards menu.
  5. Enter your phone number or email address and the activation code.
  6. Tap the Activate button to complete the process.
  7. Return to the main screen of the app to use the mobile card.


Managing Mobile Cards

Storing Multiple Mobile Cards

Each site (location, service provider) can issue only one mobile card per user. However, the Airfob app allows multiple mobile cards from different sites to be stored and used.

For example, if you use Airfob at a co-working space, gym, and community center, you can store and manage separate mobile cards for each location within the app.


Deleting a Mobile Card

If you no longer need a mobile card, you can delete it from the Airfob app.

  1. Open the Airfob app and select the mobile card you want to delete.
  2. Tap the trash bin icon below the card.
  3. Confirm the deletion.


Note: Deleted mobile cards cannot be restored. If you need the card again, you must request a reissue from the site administrator.
