Firmware version 2.10.2 for the BioStation 3 was released on October 30, 2025. This update introduces enhanced encryption and resolves several minor bugs to improve system stability and security. It is recommended that all site administrators install this firmware on their BioStation 3 readers.
What's New
Improved reliability of automatic user synchronization with the server
Fixed occasional boot-up failures
Enhanced encryption for configuration data
Added support for Video Gateway integration
Fixed an issue where the Time & Attendance confirmation screen did not close automatically when “T&A required” was enabled but facial authentication was disabled
Important Note
Because of the enhanced encryption, downgrading to an earlier firmware version will require re-registering the device on your site.
How to Update Firmware
- Log into your BioStar Air site through the web portal or smartphone app.
- Select the BioStation 3 device or devices you wish to upgrade.
- Tap the Firmware Upgrade button and select version v2.10.2.
- The readers will download the firmware package completely before installation. As the package size is large, this process may take several minutes depending on your network speed.
- During installation and reboot, the readers will be temporarily offline. To minimize disruption, perform upgrades during non-peak entry and exit hours.
- No re-registration or re-configuration is required after the firmware update completes.
