BioStar 2.6 License Specification

For Video License, you will need to use Advanced license for BioStar 2.6 and above release.

* door limitation is the number of doors configured in BioStar 2

When you upgrade from BioStar 2.5 to 2.6, you will install BioStar 2.6 on top of BioStar 2.5.

Refer to the How to Upgrade BioStar 2 Server article about the basic upgrade process.

You can see a summary of your current feature use in your BioStar 2 web client Dashboard.

Sample Upgrade Scenarios

1. Upgrading from a free license when using more than 5 doors or other premium features:

You will be prompted to enter your new license key because you cannot keep the same features without purchasing a license. You will see the message below in the installation process.

"In order to keep the current number of doors and activated features after the upgrade, appropriate license needs to be applied. Please check the details of each license level and apply one that conforms to the current usage during the upgrade process."

2. Upgrading with a AC Standard license

Your upgrade will automatically apply an Advanced license. If you still need to upgrade your license because some of your used features in the past require a license upgrade, you will be prompted with the following message during the installation process:

"The applied license level does not comply with the current usage. Standard or above level of license needs to be applied. Please check and try again."
