NOTE: The BioStar 2 Local API Server/BioStar 2 Web API are discontinued, this article is for reference only. For new developments please use the BioStar 2 API (version 2.9.x and later).

1. Open services.msc.


2. Stop the BioStar 2 API Server(x64) service to stop the database use. 

BioStar 2 Mongo DB service should remain as running.


3. Open your MongoDB directory. The default location is below:

C:\Program Files\BioStar 2 API Server(x64)\mongodb-win32-x86_64-2008plus-2.6.12\bin


4. Right click mongodump.exe.


5. Click Properties


6. On the Compatibility tab, check Run this program as an administrator and click OK


7. Open a command prompt with administrator privileges. 


8. Copy the path of the bin folder. Below is the default path: 

C:\Program Files\BioStar 2 API Server(x64)\mongodb-win32-x86_64-2008plus-2.6.12\bin


9. Type cd and paste the path to change the directory. 

cd C:\Program Files\BioStar 2 API Server(x64)\mongodb-win32-x86_64-2008plus-2.6.12\bin


10. Type mongodump.exe and press enter.


11. A dump should have been created in the dump folder. 


If the file was requested by the TS team, zip the file and provide a backup.
