Biostar2 v2.7.5 or higher version support Active Directory Menu to get the user information from Active Directory to BioStar2 User.
<Active Directory>
Active Directory is a data storage which stores employees information such as account information of company file server and computer information of employees.
Using BioStar v2.7.5 or up version, the user information of BioStar2 can be updated from Active Directory Server.
<Feature of Active Directory Support>
1) The meaning of Active Directory Support is that an administrator can update the user information from the current user information of Active Directory to user information of BioStar2 without adding the user information in BioStar2 SW manually.
2) You can login with the updated user information to BioStar2 SW.

<Structure of Active Directory Connection>
From connecting Active Directory Server, you can synchronize the user information to BioStar2 Server.
But, only 5 elements are supported for the synchronization.
- User ID, User Name, Email, Telephone, Expired Date

1. Active BioStar2 AC license (Advanced Level or higher version) and confirm the license level

2. Go to Settings - Server and select [User ID Type] as Alphanumeric. Click
2-1. Click [Apply] to save the information
3. Go to Settings
4. Click [ACTIVE DIRECTORY]
5. Enter [Active Directory Server] information
5-1) Disable or Enable "Secure Transfer" of Active Directory Server
- Caution for the option: You can use the encryption when communicating with a Windows Active Directory server. But, it is only supported by certain Active Directory Environment. Active Directory Server and the Active Directory Certificate Server must be installed on same PC. If not, it is not supported to connect the Active Directory Server with the option.
- For the detailed configuration in Active Directory Server Encryption, refer the attached file or refer BioStar2 Administrator Guide(BioStar 2 Settings>Active Directory>Active Directory Encryption) . Before you configure the "Secure Transfer" option, you should configure your Active Directory Server and export the certification.
5-2) Refer the information of Active Directory in your system and fill in the server information of the Active directory and connection information.

5-3) Click [Test Connect] and confirm the connection between Active Directory Server and BioStar2 Server
6. Select "Field Configuration" in accordance with AD Server Field
- 1st User ID field of BioStar 2 is fixed and you can re-arrange the other fields between user name and expired date as you can see.
6. Click [Apply] to save all information
7. Go to [Active Directory] menu again, and click [Sync Now] of Synchronize to synchronize the user information of Active Directory to the user information of BioStar2
- Caution: Automatic synchronization is not supported, the user information is only synchronized whenever an administrator clicks [Sync Now].
- The synchronized user information will be transferred to the connected devices of BioStar 2 Server in accordance with the option of user synchronization.
