Summary
When registering a visitor's fingerprint or searching for a user by using [BioStar 2 > Visitor] or [Visit application page];
1) The fingerprint registration and fingerprint search icon are not displayed
2) "USB device is not detected. Please check USB connection." message occurred.

Solution
This issue will be fixed in BioStar 2.8.19. (2022 3Q)
If an issue occurs in an earlier version, the issue can be resolved by applying a patch. (For BioStar 2.8.15)
If there is no patch available for your version of BioStar 2, please log in to the Suprema Technical Support site and create a ticket with your version of BioStar 2.

<How to apply the patch>
1) Open BioStar Setting and stop all services.
2) Open USB Device Agent and stop the service.
3) Open the Windows system tray, right-click on USB Device Agent, and click "Exit."
4) Go to <C:\Program Files\BioStar 2(x64)\nginx> and back up "html" folder.
5) Place the patched "html" folder under <C:\Program Files\BioStar 2(x64)\nginx>.
6) Go to <C:\Program Files\BioStar 2(x64)> and back up "biostar2-webapp.jar" file.
7) Place the patched "biostar2-webapp.jar" file under <C:\Program Files\BioStar 2(x64)>.
8) Go to <C:\Program Files (x86)\USB Device Agent\usb-agent > and back up "usb-agent.exe" file.
9) Place the patched "usb-agent.exe" file under <C:\Program Files (x86)\USB Device Agent\usb-agent>.
10) Place the "BioStar 2 Patch - Release Note.txt" under <C:\Program Files\BioStar 2(x64)> to check patch history further.
11) Open BioStar Setting and start all services.
12) Open USB Device Agent and start the service.
13) Log in to the BioStar 2 and check whether the issue is resolved.
