Overview
The BioStar 2 Cloud feature provided secure tunneling to access BioStar 2 servers from external networks.
Through this feature, users could connect via a designated subdomain, use the BioStar 2 Mobile app, BioStar 2 Cloud API, and perform Mobile Face Enrollment.
End-of-Life Announcement
Suprema announces the End-of-Life of the BioStar 2 Cloud feature according to the following schedule. (https://www.supremainc.com/en/hardware/eol_notice-detail.asp?iBOARD_CONT_NO=7737&iPage=1&)
As a result, all functions that rely on BioStar 2 Cloud—including login via biostar2.com
, Cloud API, and Mobile Face Enrollment—will be affected.
Existing subdomains (e.g.,
subdomain.biostar2.com
) will remain usable until the End of Support date.After that, access will no longer be available.
Customers should plan to migrate to BioStar 2 v2.9.12 or BioStar X, create new domains, activate the feature, and install the new BioStar X Mobile app (Release date: TBD).
If you have developed with BioStar 2 Cloud API, we recommend moving to the BioStar 2 Local API.

Starting in Q4 2025, BioStar 2 v2.9.12 and BioStar X will introduce BioStar Remote Access to replace the BioStar 2 Cloud feature.

1. When will the BioStar 2 Cloud feature end?
A. New domain creation is available until August 31, 2025. Existing features can be used until January 31, 2026. After that date, all functions and technical support will be discontinued.
2. How long can I continue using my existing domain?
A. Until January 31, 2026. After this date, access will no longer be possible.
3. Can I keep my existing domain(i.e. subdomain.biostar2.com) after End of Distribution?
A. No. After End of Distribution, you must create a new domain and activate the new feature.
4. Can I create a new domain(i.e. subdomain.biostar2.com) after September 2025?
A. No. New domain(subdomain.biostar2.com of BioStar 2 Cloud) creation is only available until August 31, 2025.
5. What happens to the data stored in BioStar 2 Cloud?
A. Only the email address used for activation is stored. No passwords or personal information are stored.
All data will be permanently deleted after the End of Support date (January 31, 2026).
